I've hit another reading slump in the last couple of weeks. It isn't that I don't have the time to read or that I'm not in the mood to read. I've simply been too tired. Every so often I go through a period of insomnia and the nights have been bad lately. I am a worrier by nature and in the quiet of the night my brain sometimes goes into over drive. During these times none of the usual suggestions for sleep help all that much so I end up exhausted during the day. The good thing is that these periods seem to have a time limit and then I go back to sleeping fairly normally. I'm hoping that I'm through the worst of this one. Needless to say my reading has suffered because I've simply been too tired to concentrate.
Here is a quick rundown of what has been and will be happening:
Read but needs review: Qigong Illustrated by Christina J. Barea - I finished this one last week but have been too tired to write a well thought out review.
Currently Reading: Traitor to the Blood by Barb & J. C. Hendee (Noble Dead, series 1, book 4) - I'm hoping to finish this one today or tomorrow and have it reviewed sometime later this week.
Up Next: Absolutely, Positively by Heather Webber (Lucy Valentine 3) just showed up at the library for me. I'll probably pick it up tomorrow but I'm not letting myself start reading until I get the other two reviews written.
Books for Review:
- The Pilgrim Glass by Julie K. Rose
- The Seventeen Second Miracle by Jason F. Wright
- Tales from the Yoga Studio by Rain Michell
I love that I will never run out of books that I want to read but sometimes I do with I could read faster so I wouldn't feel so far behind all the time!

Sometimes when I'm having a reading slump I splurg on a book that's on my wish list-that usually snaps me out of my slump. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI am interested in the Yoga book, I look forward to your review.
ReplyDeleteI switch to a quick read when I'm slumping, just to get me back on track.

Sorry for the insomnia. That's never fun. I hate feeing too out of it to read. I know what you mean about having too many books to read. it's great to have them on hand, but i'm SO behind on the ones I already own.
