I don't run in the physical activity sense of the word. That kind of running I hate. My knees can't take it and I have never been able to breathe while running. In college I had to run in my phys ed class because the other option was biking and I didn't have a bike. I could not keep up with the rest of the class and the instructor ended up giving me shorter routes. It was embarrassing.
Running around to and from things I do a lot of now that Elizabeth is in preschool. She goes two days a week right now but it will be four in the fall. That is four mornings of dropping off and four lunchtimes of picking up. Right now we also have speech once a week, although that should be finishing up soon. Add in the multitude of doctor appointments that Victoria had in her first year for well visits alone and all the sick visits for everyone this year. Then we have a group twice a month with the occasional play date with some other kids. With just our weekly activities I am driving so much more than I did just a couple of years ago. The activities keep us busy but it also gives me time with the girls in the car when we can talk about what has happened that day before we are distracted by other things at home. I need to make the most of that time as the girls grow so that we can have some togetherness during all that running.
I know what you mean. The pace of normal life is so fast these days. I'm sure it wan't like that when I was a child.
ReplyDeleteAlthough you have a lot of running around to so, it's lovely you have that special time with your girls!
ReplyDeleteAh, Mom the taxi service. Thankfully, my daughter has not been high maintenance, but I think that may be because I only have one. People with two seem much more than twice as busy...
ReplyDeleteI always find myself smiling when you talk about your girls, Angela. I'm sure that they will never be short of togetherness with such a great mom!
