Time #BlogFlash2013

Time... it always seems to get away from me. I feel like there is never enough time in the day to do all the things that I need to do. Yet if I really think about what I've done during the day I've wasted a lot of time as well. Facebook, Twitter, visiting various blogs, and email suck me in and before I know it the kids are getting up from their naps and I still haven't written my own blog post, emptied the dishwasher, or folded that load of laundry.

The recent time change has really messed with me this time too. None of us want to go to sleep when we should but we still have to get up in the morning for school, work, and various activities. I find myself staying up late to write blog posts or just to talk to my husband and then in the morning I'm dragging so much that I just want to take a nap when the girls do. I love having dinner in the daylight but trying to get the four year old to bed when it isn't dark is rough. We will all adjust eventually but it is going to take a bit of time.

  1. Fie on time changes! I'm convinced they were invented by someone who did not have children (or cows). I have the first.
Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by the nut-tree...

    1. Your concluding line strikes me as quite punny... (intentionally so?) ;-)

We do all find so many ways to 'waste' time, but I think if it wasn't for Facebook & etc., we still would – not to justify spending more time on social media. Still, for better or worse, it's how we have come to communicate with and meet people – it's all in how we use it!

    2. Ha! You caught me. I thought the last line quite appropriate.

Oh yes, I had many time wasters before social media too. TV might have been one although I have been so busy I don't think I've watched more than one show in the last couple of weeks :-)

    3. That puts you ahead of many people, who added time-wasters rather than swapping them out ;-)

  3. I really hate DST, it messes me up so bad! And yes, time seems to go to waste so fast, even when it's really not wasted.

  4. I HATE DST too. It totally screws me over. Living in AZ for so long I did not have to and I was ok, as soon as I moved to AK and for the last ten years I have been SO SCREWED!! http://cabingoddess.com/2013/03/just-another-four-letter-word-time-blogflash2013/

  7. Facebook, Twitter and all media social. I admit, I don't spend as much time on it as I should, so 'I' wouldn't say I waste time on it. I should probably invest a little more time IN it.

  8. I'm beginning to find Facebook a huge time drain. If you visit regularly, it is so easy to get distracted. If not, you are bombarded with dozens of notifications when you check in. Perhaps Facebook is the new email in terms of overwhelming us unless we keep completely on top of it!
