She opened the door slowly and quietly. Despite having the key she felt as if she were trespassing, like she didn't belong in the house anymore. So many years had passed since she had last been here and there was nothing left of the home she had known. The building stood empty and in great need of repair. She walked the rooms wondering what had happened to her family after she ran away. Her memories conjured ghosts throughout the house and she feared she had thrown away the only home she might ever know.

  1. I love the image, "Her memories conjured ghosts throughout the house"!

Is this an excerpt from something longer or a standalone scene?

    1. Thanks Aria.

BlogFlash is really the only time I ever do any fiction writing so what you read is pretty much what you get. I usually just get a little glimpse of what is happening and I have no idea who anyone really is which is why the characters in these little bits never have names.

    2. Well I like your little snippets, so if you ever feel the urge to try fiction, you should definitely listen to that inner voice!
